Anthony Faranesh, Ph.D., is a Research Scientist at Google, where he develops AI-driven health features and consumer health technologies. With over two decades of experience spanning biomedical engineering, wearable biosensors, and interventional medical imaging, Dr. Faranesh specializes in translating physiological sensor data into clinically actionable tools. Prior to his role at Google, he served as a Research Scientist at Fitbit, architecting wearable consumer health products, including leading pivotal clinical validation studies such as The Fitbit Heart Study, and securing multiple FDA Software as a Medical Device (SaMD) clearances.
Earlier in his career, Dr. Faranesh was a Staff Scientist at the National Institutes of Health (NHLBI), serving as technical lead for first-in-human clinical MRI-guided catheterizations. He holds a Ph.D. and M.S.E. in Biomedical Engineering from Johns Hopkins University and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University, with postdoctoral research completed at Stanford Radiology.
