
Dr. Alfredo Quinones-Hinojosa serves as the James C. and Sarah K. Kennedy Dean of Research at Mayo Clinic in Florida and the endowed William Mayo Professor of Neurological Surgery. He completed his M.D. graduating cum laude from Harvard Medical School and then completed Neurosurgical Residency and Post-Doctoral Research Fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco. From 2005 to 2016, Dr. Quinones-Hinojosa was a Professor of Neurosurgery and Oncology and the Director of Neurological Oncology at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. Dr. Quinones-Hinojosa currently leads the NIH-funded Brain Tumor Stem Cell Laboratory that is focused on studying brain cancer from a surgical, clinical, and translational perspective to improve patient safety and maximize the efficacy of treatments.
